Description
The Banana Spider or Golden Orb Weaver is non aggressive and found all around South Carolina. They have been imported into other countries in banana bunches. The female is larger than the male, loves sunny and warm climates and prefers to eat flying insects that are attracted to its golden web. This one was found outside of a gardener's shed or smokehouse outbuildings near the Bleak Hall at Botany Bay Plantation
